Warm ups are another important classroom management tool. Once the students get into your classroom they have something to do.

I usually print a warm up sheet that I give to them on Mondays, and they have to turn it in Friday.

Students learn through repetition. So, the more you do something, they better you become at it. With that said, I only have five types of warm up. I only explain how to do the warm ups the first week of the school year, and kids know what to do for the rest of the year.

My warm ups are only based on grammar. I identified what things I wanted the kids to get out at the end of the year, and the make a simplify version of those lessons into one single task.

The following presentations will have examples of the different warm up I use in my classroom.

For this warm up, I give my students a texts that has exactly three verbs. First, they have to be able to recognize what a verb is. Once they find the verbs, they have to write the verb information, person, number, tense, mode, infinitive and conjugation type.
